Tour of the Basics Web Quest: Students will use the link found in schoology to answer the questions also found in schoology. When they have completed the assignment they may press submit so the assignment can be graded.
Introduction to Space Packet: This was an in class activity. The first page of the packet is a worksheet where students
used laptops to investigate the sizes of the planets from largest to smallest. The second portion of the packet
was a graphic organizer where students used the laptops to collect data about the different planets and fill in their chart.
Last was a graphing activity where students created an X-Y plot of the diameters of each planet in Kilometers.
Parachute Lab: This was an activity completed over several class periods. Students created their own
parachutes and collected data on their fall time. Afterwards students answered conclusion questions.
Laws of Motion (Gravity) Foldable: Using the article above create a foldable of the 3 laws of motion.
Fold the paper on the solid line and cut only on the dotted lines. Draw a picture to remind you of what the
Law is in the box and under that flap write in the law from the article.
Speed, Velocity and Acceleration Problems: Complete the problems using the formulas for Speed,
Acceleration and Velocity found in the worksheet and the notes. A calculator should be used.
Procedure Writing Lab:Students were given pieces to build with in class to create a structure and a
procedure for building that structure. They were asked to complete the reflection questions based on how
well another group could re-build their structures with the procedures they wrote.
Unit 2 StudyGuide: This is the study guide for the unit test coming up this week and next week.
Students were given time in class to complete it and the answers were also reviewed in class.
Compression and Tension Worksheet: Using the Forces on Bridges Article, fill in the definitions for Compression and Tension, label each diagram with the type of bridge and compression and tension.
Bridges Webquest: Using the link go to the Bridges webquest. Click Process. Then click each blue link for each question. Use the worksheet to fill in the answers to each question.
Suspension Bridge Graphing: Using the information in the worksheet create an X-Y scatter plot of the data table. Then draw in the best fit line and answer the questions.
